Ok, so there might not be a heatwave in the UK right now, but why should we deprive ourselves of the usual summery treats?! In our previous post we explained that when fruit is frozen, it retains the same nutrient content it would have when it’s fresh. So why not bring a little bit of summer to wherever you are by making these healthy and yummy ice lollies by Juicy Lucie Foods. Each of these lollies contain a portion of your 5-a-Day!
Time: 5 minutes preparation time (4 hours/overnight to freeze)
Price: £3.60-£4.60 (based on mySupermarket.com) When costing our recipes, we assume you don’t have any of the ingredients in stock. This means it’s likely to cost less than we quote, unless your cupboards really are bare. We also price according to whole bottles of oil/bags of pasta/jars of spices etc., so you’ll have left-overs to use in other recipes.
- 1/3 cup of Water
- 1 Banana
- 1 Mango
- 1 tbsp Honey
- 12 Raspberries
- Place 3 raspberries into each ice lolly mould. Squash fruit slightly with a spoon and add a few drops of water into each. Place in the freezer whilst preparing the smoothie mix.
- Chop mango and banana.
- Add to blender with honey and water.
- Blend until smooth.
- Add mixture to ice lolly moulds and place in freezer for 4 hours, or overnight.
